Coach Matt was born and raised in Nikiski, Alaska. He started wrestling young and finished high school placing 3 times in the state tournament. After graduating in 2010 he began training for MMA and has since competed in MMA and in kickboxing. Currently he is a purple belt in the Bang Muay Thai striking system under Seth Stacey, who is a black belt under sensei Duane Ludwig. Matt has coached and has been apart of many fighters’ camps including being apart of his teammates path to a belt in the Alaska Fighting Championship, and later a UFC contract. He and his wife, two sons and daughter moved to Covington in 2021 and teamed up with Apex in late 2021 teaching kickboxing and coaching fighters.
